Ag Days, or Calf Clubs, are an annual tradition for rural schools and encourage children to learn about the care of farm animals by rearing a lamb, goat and/or chickens.
The Onewhero Ag Day will take place on Saturday 27 October.
This year we will also be having a pet parade for those children who would like to showcase their dog, cat, rabbit, pig, goldfish or whatever weird and wonderful animal they may have. This is a way to try and include those who care for animals, but may not have the space to raise a lamb, goat and/or chickens.
The Onewhero Ag Day Committee is responsible for the organisation and running of the Onewhero Ag Day and consists of a dedicated group of parents who would like the children of Onewhero Area School to have an enjoyable experience rearing and caring for their animals. If you’re a parent or member of the local community who is enthusiastic about the benefits of Ag Day, we welcome any and all offers of assistance!
Please note that the Onewhero Area School management is not actively involved with the organisation and running of the Onewhero Ag Day, so any questions should be directed to the Onewhero Ag Day Committee, NOT the school. You can message the Committee via our Facebook page or email [email protected]
