Kiwi Women Lead the World - Suffrage 125 @ Pukekohe | Pukekohe | Auckland | New Zealand

On Sept 15th 2018 Franklin will be celebrating 125 years of NZ women being able to vote. A life changing event for many people and worth celebrating in style.

Come and join the celebration to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the women in the 1890’s who fought to get the vote for women with the support of some men.

There will be a Parade down King Street with dancing, bands playing and jubilant singing, ending at the Town Hall, speeches delivered, doves released and a Special Multicultural Afternoon Tea at 2:30 pm. There will be exhibitions in Franklin the Centre, from local not for profit organisations celebrating their achievements past and present, honouring their leaders and showcasing changes over the past 125 years.

Participants in the Parade will congregate in Seddon Park at 12:15 pm and the Parade will commence at 1:00 pm. Only placards and banners will be permitted – no floats.
