Prepared meals (free)

 Support Services

Meal packs are available free to meet sudden emergency situations.  These meals are available to anyone in the community who may be suddenly thrust into unforeseen circumstances.  Sometimes things happen in the family and access to a frozen meal would ease the pressure of extended travel or long times spent at the hospital or the loads imposed by a sudden passing in the family.

The community can, and has, supplied meals to Pukekawa, Tuakau, Te Kohanga and out past Wairamarama.

A small community group meets as the need arises and spends a day preparing a selection of 6 or 7 different meals, packaging them and then freezing them for later use.  The group often prepares 60 to 80 meal packs at a time.

The meals are all gluten free and the range includes a vegetarian option.

Each pack is designed to suit two people.

If you, or someone you know, would benefit from these meal packs, please ring Gay on 021 860 878.  There is no charge for these packs as all the materials have been donated.

If anyone is prepared to donate vegetables or meat items, please also contact Gay (021 860 878) to discuss.

We have in the past and recipients (when better) help us prepare the meals.  It is a great time together.
